We’ve had a wave of new faces joining the Deanhouse team recently, including none other than Emma, our fantastic new Office Administrator. Emma has joined us on an 8-month business apprenticeship, and we’re thrilled to have her on board. We’re excited for her to gain hands-on experience in a busy, growing company with lots of exciting projects in the pipeline, and plenty of plates to spin!
To get to know Emma better, we sat down with her to ask her a few questions about her journey, her experiences so far and what she hopes to gain from her time with us.
So, without further ado, let’s get into it!
What is your background, and how did you become an Office Administrator?
I have a history of working in hospitality, so I knew I wanted to go down a route that involved customer service, but also the administrative side of running a business. I chose the apprenticeship route because it allows me to gain hands-on experience while still being supported as I learn.
What route did you take to get into this industry?
Apprenticeship.
What excited you most about working at Deanhouse, and what do you enjoy most about the role?
I like how friendly and welcoming my colleagues are. I also enjoy having set tasks each day that I need to complete, as well as more varied activities each day. It really helps to make sure that no two days are ever the same.
What things are happening in the industry that you feel inspired by?
I’d say I feel inspired by the increasing focus on sustainability and ethical practices within the industry.
What are some challenges you face in your role?
Adapting to new software and technology is challenging, but it’s also an opportunity to learn and grow.
We’re so pleased to have Emma on the team and can’t wait to see how she progresses in her role over the next eight months. We’re proud to welcome apprentices into the fold here at Deanhouse, and we believe it’s part of what makes us such a great place to work.
Interested in joining our team? We’re always on the lookout for great people who share our energy, creativity, and love of the job.
