Out and about with Deanhouse: Events, connections and new opportunities

It’s been a busy few months for the Deanhouse team, with industry events, new connections and exciting opportunities to explore across the fit-out, construction, leisure and commercial sectors. From meeting businesses in Ireland to sharing our expertise at industry events, we’ve been making the most of every opportunity to build relationships, discover new markets and showcase what Deanhouse can do. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to recently.

Building Connections at Atom Business Events

We attended the Atom Business Events Fit-out Construction & Design event at MK Arena, spending two days connecting with businesses across the fit-out, construction and design sectors. The event gave us the opportunity to discuss upcoming projects, understand the challenges businesses are facing and explore where our in-house manufacturing and fit-out capabilities could add value. For us, it’s about more than making introductions. It’s about understanding what our clients and partners need, identifying where we can help and building relationships that continue long after the event ends. We came away with plenty of valuable conversations to follow up and new opportunities to explore.

Exploring new opportunities in the holiday and leisure sector

Our visit to the Holiday & Leisure Park Development Forum at the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Warwickshire, gave us the chance to connect with businesses across the holiday and leisure industry and learn more about the opportunities within this growing sector. As a business, we’re always looking at how we can build on our existing capabilities, whether that means expanding into new markets, developing our manufacturing expertise or taking on different types of projects. The conversations we had at the forum, hosted by Stable Events, provided valuable insight into what businesses are looking for, alongside some exciting potential opportunities for Deanhouse. The next step is to build on those discussions and explore how we can bring our experience in manufacturing, joinery and fit-out to new projects.

Celebrating our Work at the Fit Out Awards UK

We were proud to attend the Fit Out Awards UK after being named one of just five national finalists for Fit Out Contractor of the Year. Our entry highlighted the work we deliver in live, high-profile sporting environments, where tight programmes, complex requirements and coordination with other trades demand careful planning and execution. With CAD, manufacturing and installation all managed in-house, we maintain greater control over quality, lead times and production throughout each project. This forms part of a wider track record of delivering more than 100 projects in the last 12 months across hospitality, leisure and commercial spaces, supported by continued investment in our team and capabilities. Although we didn’t take home the award, being recognised alongside leading businesses from across the UK was a fantastic achievement. The evening also provided a welcome opportunity to catch up with industry contacts, celebrate the work taking place across the sector and recognise the teams behind some of the country's leading fit-out projects.

Taking Deanhouse to Ireland

We also headed to Ireland for a few days of networking, business discussions and new opportunities, on a trade mission organised by the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and Drogheda & District Chamber. The visit gave us the opportunity to meet businesses, introduce them to Deanhouse and share more about our approach and capabilities. We also took part in a panel discussion, providing a further opportunity to talk about what we do and the experience we bring to our projects. Beyond the introductions, the trip gave us a valuable feel for the Irish market and helped us start building relationships that we’re looking forward to developing further. A big thank you to both chambers for organising the visit and bringing businesses together. And, of course, Dean joined us for the trip too. If you spotted him in our social posts, you’ll know he didn’t miss out!

Recognising our continued growth

Alongside our recent events, we’re delighted to share that Deanhouse Group has been shortlisted for Scale-Up of the Year (£3m–£10m) at the 2027 Yorkshire Growth Awards. The shortlist recognises the progress we’ve made as a business, including our continued investment in our people, manufacturing capabilities and the services we offer. Our growth is built on the hard work of the team, the relationships we develop with our clients and partners, and our commitment to delivering projects we can be proud of. We’re pleased to see that progress recognised and look forward to celebrating alongside the other finalists.

Looking ahead

Each event has given us something valuable to take away, whether that’s a new connection, a better understanding of an emerging market or an opportunity to put our capabilities in front of businesses looking for a reliable fit-out partner. As we continue to grow, we’ll keep looking for opportunities to develop our expertise, build lasting relationships and take on new challenges across the sectors we work in. There are plenty of conversations to follow up and opportunities to explore, so keep an eye out for more updates from the team. We’re on it.
