Delivering bespoke joinery for luxury student accommodation

When interior design house Project ff&e were appointed to deliver Haymarket Yards, a new build student accommodation scheme in Edinburgh, they partnered with Deanhouse Group to manufacture and install a range of bespoke joinery elements.

Working from a blank canvas, the goal was to create a high-quality, design-led entrance that set the tone for the whole development, delivering on Project ff&e’s initial designs.

Using our Computer Aided design software Solidworks, our team translated the interior designs into precise technical drawings, ensuring a seamless transition through to CNC manufacture, facilitating a project that was delivered on time and on brief.

Precision manufacturing & technical design
All elements were developed using Solidworks, allowing us to produce highly accurate technical drawings that fed directly into our CNC machinery, ensuring consistency and precision throughout the manufacturing stage.
Feature wall & column cladding
The stand-out element of the project was bespoke wall panelling for the reception area. Requiring careful planning, particularly around curved sections and corner transitions, the team delivered a quality space on time and on brief. Alongside the feature elements, we manufactured a clean and functional reception desk that complemented the space’s wider look and feel.
Collaborative delivery
Working closely with Project ff&e, we helped to refine and develop the project to ensure it was practical to manufacture, with regular visits to the Edinburgh site to ensure our designs worked for the space.
Sustainably sourced materials
The project was delivered entirely using FSC-certified materials, ensuring all timber products met strict standards for responsible sourcing and sustainability.

The Result

The completed space delivers a modern, high-quality reception area that fits Project ff&e’s initial designs and meets the practical demands of Haymarket Yard’s student environment. Through a combination of technical expertise, precision manufacturing and close collaboration, we were able to bring complex design elements to life, using the bespoke joinery capabilities that we bring to every project.
