Q. What route did you take into the industry?
Aaron: I have spent most of my career in Shopfitting and Joinery. I entered the industry through work experience within a family business. It was here that I learnt the trade through hands-on experience and skills such as cutting, edging, and assembling bespoke counters, display units, and interior fittings. This practical grounding provided a strong technical foundation and later supported a move into shop design, estimating and sales.
Q. Can you tell us a bit more about your background?
Aaron: Having ran my own shopfitting business for over 10 years I gained valuable experience providing bespoke fittings for Independent Golf, Sports, Equestrian and Electrical stores. This gave me a practical understanding of end-to-end joinery and commercial fit-out projects.
Following the covid pandemic, the business closed, and I then moved to a local large-format printers. It was there that I gained valuable insight into alternative production processes, materials, and workflows.
Q. What inspires you about the current fit-out market?
Aaron: At the moment, we’re seeing a really strong demand for high-quality office fit-outs and refurbishment projects, with clients increasingly focused on improving not only aesthetics but functionality and user experience. Nothing quite matches the pride of delivering a completed project that truly makes a difference for the client.
Q. What excites you about being part of Deanhouse?
Aaron: Everything! It’s safe to say the company is on an upward path. I’ve joined at a really great time; there is a freedom to make a difference and a genuine eagerness among everyone to drive the company forward.
There’s some really exciting things ahead!
